Privacy Policy

Streamif runs entirely on your Mac. It has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. We do not collect, store or receive any of your data.

What we collect

Nothing. Streamif has no analytics, no telemetry and no crash reporting. Nothing you do in the app is reported back to us, because there is no "us" for it to be reported to. We do not operate any server that Streamif talks to.

Your video and audio

Your camera, microphone, screen and recordings stay on your Mac. When you go live, Streamif sends video and audio straight from your Mac to the streaming service you chose, using the RTMP address and stream key you entered. Nothing passes through us. Recordings are written to a folder on your Mac and are never uploaded anywhere.

Signing in to YouTube or Twitch

Signing in is optional. It is only used to show live chat inside the app. Everything else in Streamif works without it.

If you do sign in:

• Streamif uses your YouTube permission only to find your current live broadcast and read its chat messages. It does not post, edit or delete anything on your channel.
• Streamif uses your Twitch permission only to read chat for your channel and to read your username.
• The sign-in tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain on your own Mac. They are never sent anywhere except to Google or Twitch when Streamif asks them for chat messages.
• Chat messages are held in memory while the app is open so they can be shown on screen. They are not written to disk and not sent anywhere.

You can sign out at any time from the sidebar. Signing out deletes the stored tokens from your Keychain. You can also remove Streamif's access from your Google account page or your Twitch connections page.

Streamif's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Settings

Your scenes, overlays, destinations and preferences are saved on your Mac. Stream keys you enter are stored on your Mac so you do not have to type them again. None of this is sent anywhere.

Updates

Streamif checks for new versions using Sparkle. This asks streamif.com for a small update file. As with any web request, the server can see your IP address and which version you are on. No account or personal information is sent, and you can turn automatic checks off in Settings.

Children

Streamif is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
